Soweto, Johanneburg & Apartheid Museum

We pick up at 9am, Start in Johannesburg driving via Mandela house, Hilbrow (united states of Africa), drive by Constitution hill then a stop in Newtown for a brief history on forced removals of 1905. We proceed in Johannesburg Main Street through the mining houses and conclude the city at Carlton centre (tallest building).

We then drive to Soweto through Diepkloof extension (rich suburbs of Soweto), stop by near the Hostels (Mine quarters) proceed past Bara hospital (largest in Africa) and stop for a short walking tour at the squatter camp to witness the bad part of Soweto. We the proceed to the Freedom Square (birth place of South Africa’s Constitution). We then drive to Vilakazi Street via Regina Mundi church (parliament of Soweto). At Vilakazi street we see the Tutu residence and Mandela residence, the street with 2 Nobel prize winners. Here there is also an opportunity for crafts shopping and lunch.

We the proceed to the Apartheid Museum to learn more about South Africa’s Apartheid History through films, testimonials and other articles. You may also choose to have lunch at the museum.
We conclude the tour in approximately 7hrs and head out to your drop off point.
